Trunk show, trunk show, trunk show!

Wow, we are super excited to host this! A trunk show is a special optical merchandising event where our vendors come in to show new product. we also offer *fantastic* discounts to our patients for this.

We're talking Oakley, Ray-Ban, Tommy Bahama, Prada, Dolce Gabbana and Bebe. And they will all have a huge selection to choose from.

Come by to check it out this coming friday, June 8th, 2012 from 8:30-6:00pm. The real fun starts at 3:00pm with free food, drinks, games, prizes and giveaways including some Dolce & Gabbana sunglasses.

November is Diabetic Eye Disease Month

A recent survey by the American Optometric Association (AOA), the American Eye-Q™, revealed that while more than 60 percent of adults know that diabetes is detectable through a comprehensive eye exam, only 38 percent of adults who do not wear glasses or contacts have been to an eye doctor in the last two years.

Almost 21 million people in the United States have diabetes and over six million of those are undiagnosed. Additionally, an estimated 54 million Americans aged 40 to 74 have pre-diabetes, a condition that puts them at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes.

SC DMV requirements

Ever wonder what minimum vision the state of South Carolina requires you to see for a passenger driver's license? 20/40. Any worse than that, and SC requires corrective lenses (ie. glasses or contacts) as a restriction on your license. The state can also request a visual field test of an applicant. The minimum there: 140°. Think you might have some trouble the next time you go to renew youir license? Call us for an appointment. Think of all the time you'll save waiting in line at the DMV!
